3rd Surgery a Charm for Teik

Our beloved, slightly wayward dog, Teik, underwent an emergency surgery for a bowel obstruction on April 22. Teik is a 10 ½ year-old golden retriever who reaps great joy from eating anything not originally intended for canine consumption: socks, envelopes, plastic bags, wallets, pies… You name it, he’s into it. Both our ER doctor and surgeon displayed surprise that a dog of Teik’s age would had an obstruction. Teik won’t let his age keep him from doing what he loves!

As a side note, Teik was diagnosed with a cancerous mast cell tumor on his abdomen in January of 2020. We opted not to go ahead with surgery and follow a non-aggressive course of treatment due to his age, and the fact that he was perfectly happy and healthy otherwise. However, given the location of the tumor, the surgeon was able to remove it during this surgery. A little silver lining, we guess.

We are asking for some assistance in offsetting the cost of Teik’s surgery and post-op costs. The total cost is about $8000. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support! Venmo is also an option if you'd rather donate there. :)
