Porter is a Lab/ Sheppard Mix who loves to go running and rollerblading. He is very energetic and loving. His calm demeanor makes it easy for him to make friends with everyone he meets. All of the kids in the neighborhood love to come say hi when he is outside.

On July 26 Porter went out for his nightly roam of the yard. At this time a loud van that he loves to bark at was passing by. He was struck by the van. We rushed him to the Emergency Veterinary hospital in Ann Arbor and waited by his side. He has severe road rash on his ventral abdomen and prepuce. He was showing signs of shock, high blood pressure and had high heart rate. Fortunately no major injuries to his internal organs were found.

However, Porter has multiple pelvic fractures. Since he is a large 90 pound dog and has an active lifestyle, he needs his pelvis to be surgically repaired. The surgery is $5,550 on top of the $1,100 for the Emergency visit.

Porter is our baby and was there to comfort us when we lost our Mom and Dad. Now its our turn to take care of him in this horrible situation. He is in perfect health otherwise and has many years to live! <3
