Diane and Andy

My daughter, Diane, and her husband, Andy, are going through a very difficult time. Diane has been in the hospital for almost 4 weeks while her team of doctors tries to figure out which of her health problems is currently most important. She has Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder which has led to heart, lung, kidney, joint and skin problems. She wants to get home to finish remodeling her bathroom which she will slowly work on until fatigue overwhelms her or her O2 tubing gets kinked. Diane never quits! Andy is also struggling with the effects of Pompeii disease, which has affected his walking, balance and strength in his lower body. Both Diane and Andy are now on disability so money is very tight. They are both fighters and have been working very hard to maintain their life together. They have five dogs (their children) who create a lot of dog hair! Housecleaning is very difficult for either of them right now. They would both benefit physically from being able to use their swimming pool but right now it is inaccessible because their deck needs to be rebuilt. Diane was in the process of doing that when she became so sick last year that she went into liver failure. The unfinished deck and the overgrown back yard are beyond her capabilities now. They are not ready to throw in the towel and leave their home but they could use some help to get the deck restored, the back yard cleaned up and the pool back in working order. This would contribute to a much better quality of life for both of them. If this fund could help them pay for a person to clean house for them once or twice a month, that would also help to improve their overall health. They are as independent as they can be and want to stay that way as long as possible.
