Justin's Journey

Donation protected
Hi everyone,
Our family is putting together a fundraiser on behalf of Justin Roy. An amazing son, brother, uncle, father, and husband. In November, 2023 Justin was diagnosed with Stage 2B Pancreatic Cancer. A diagnosis no one in the world wants to hear. His battle, however, didn't only start there.
Justin was enjoying a normal life, working hard and along with his wife Caroline, raising their beautiful 11 year old daughter, until one day he woke up with stomach pain. At first, he didn't think much of it, except it didn't go away and continually got worse. Justin was in extreme pain daily and had uncontrollable vomiting at times. He had numerous trips to the Emergency Department along with many hospital stays. He had many diagnostic tests and procedures with doctors who failed him here and in Boston. He was misdiagnosed with an autoimmune disease and ended up with a severe infection which required yet another hospital stay. He was in desperate search for answers which finally led him to New York Presbyterian Hospital. Here he found an excellent Surgeon who knew right away what had to be done. Justin underwent the Whipple Procedure which is a major and very complicated surgery where they remove your gallbladder and bile duct, part of your pancreas, and some of your stomach with a 6 month recovery time. This was supposed to be the answer and give Justin a new lease on life until the pathology report came back and he received the dreaded call of Pancreatic Cancer.

The past 2 ½ years have been extremely challenging for Justin and his family; mentally, physically and financially and with no end to incoming medical bills anytime soon. Justin has started Chemotherapy and has a long and difficult road ahead of him. No one really knows the devastating effects cancer can have on a family until they are faced with it head on. This is why we are asking for your help so that Justin and his family can concentrate on his health and recovery, instead of being filled with stress and anxiety over finances from past and incoming medical bills.

Thank you for taking the time to read Justin's Journey, our family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts. Please continue to keep Justin and his family in your prayers
