Evan Yearwood's Aftercare Support

Evan Yearwood is a 13 year old boy from Victor NY who was hit by a SUV while riding his bike and suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), a fractured skull, road rash, and a broken ankle. He's been in the PICU for 2 weeks and and has been progressing slowly. He had a titanium plate and screws put in his ankle which is also helping the split bone at the growth plate.

The obstacle now is to work on his cognitive abilities as he comes in and out of reality. Sometimes he knows us and other times he is screaming for his real mom and dad (Which we are).

Evan's going to need PT and mental and neurological help. His acute care was great but once we get him home there's going to be issues about home care, school tutor, medicine co-pays, alternative treatments, physical therapy, and much more. I'm sure many other issues will arise during his treatment. I do want to thank everyone for their text, email, prayers and phone calls. Especially the nurses and doctors at Strong Memorial Hospital for saving Evan's life!

If you don't know Evan, he's a funny boy that likes to play GTA 5, snow ski, saves his money for when he really wants something, very kind and caring boy who would prefer to hang out with his friends rather than with his mom and dad. (of course). He has a brother named Chase who has been his biggest fan since the accident and comes to visit him as much as possible and talking to him about his week and video games. Evan also a dog named Echo who has been very depressed since Evan's been gone and sleeps on his empty bed everyday. He loves going to weekly youth group meetings and his favorite food is waffles with real maple syrup.

We have started this GoFundMe account in hopes to raise money, not only to help with his medical expenses but to help us equip our home with the necessary equiptment for him and get the much need help to retraining his brain.
