This page is for the support of 7 yr old , Lexis Wilson. Lexi is currently battling for the 2nd time Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma. Lexi now will be going under more intense chemotherapy followed by a stem cell transplant. This page is to help with all the medicals bills, expenses that Lexi's family will occur during this process. Kayci, Lexi's mother, has posted their story below. On January 6th, 2013 was the day I will always remeber. It was the day that started this 6 month process that started with heartbroken news to ecstatic joy to unexpected devastion. Lexis Wilson is a beautiful , quiet 7 yr old. She is the oldest of 4 children. She has always been such a quiet strength and she has amazed me at how she has handle this whole process with such maturity and determination. I knew from day one something was not right. I had a gut feeling that seems to be pretty universal in the world of childhood cancer among mothers. Initially I took her to urgent care. Lexi spoke up and said I feel tired all the time. We were there for pain with breathing. No cough, no runny nose. The doctor felt like we should have blood work. So thankful that would give us a base line. Over the next several days lexi would get much worse. She was no longer able to lay flat from the pain. She was running high fevers that I could not get to break. She had developed joint pain, and purple circles under her eyes. We visited with pediatricians and more er visits. Each time with the same diagnosis, Viral. We were having labs drawn and her counts were not normal. By the time I was able to get anyone to take the situation with Lexi serious her white blood count was over 40, 000. A noumber that was extremely high and not normal. We were instantly hospitalized. The next week lexi was put under so many tests and blood drawns it makes my heart hurt. She was visited by multiple specialists. She just seemed to be getting worse. We were finally able to proceed with a ct of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis. The news was bad. She had multiple enlarged lymph nodes throughout her entire body. A biospy was the next step. On Friday January 25, 2013 we were told Lexi had cancer. Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma. It is a form of non hodgkins lymphoma. We were immediately moved to the oncology floor and our sweet girls life chanhed forever. She went through more tests and finally was given a "prephase therapy course". She responded so fast. She went from 8 liters of oxygen to none in a little over 24 hours. Her fevers went away and she began acting like our little Lexi again. Lexi went on to have 6 rounds of chemotherapy. Each time was hospitalized. We had our up amd downs with treatment but finally finished on June 2nd. On June 20, 2013 Lexi was declared Cancer Free. The treatment had worked and her cancer was in remission. It would be a short lived celebration. Less than 30 days later we would find out Lexi's cancer is back. Lexi now faces much more intense therapy and a stem cell transplant.
