This is Tegan our beloved family pet. He is almost 6 years old and he suddenly became sick on Sunday 7/7. We took him to the vet yesterday 7/8 and he was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease: Immune Mediated Haemolytic Anaemia. He is in the pet hospital and will remain there for at least 4 days. He has already had a blood transfusion and is on a great deal of medication. Once we get to bring him home he'll be on blood thinners (3 times a day via shots) and immune suppression drugs for at least 7 months maybe for the rest of his life. The expected cost of just these 4 days is $5000 not to mention the cost of his meds and tests that he will need later. We love Tegan and have to give him every shot at a healthy life but it's sure going to be expensive so if any of you other pet lovers out that can help us out we would really appreciate it. We need to get Tegan better so he can come home and we can continue to have him in our lives.
