On May 12, Colleen was admitted to the hospital after having been diagnosed with a very rare muscle condition called Rhabdomyolysis in her legs. This is a vicious breakdown of muscle fibers that leads to the release of myoglobin into the bloodstream, which taxes the kidneys and can cause kidney damage and renal failure. Colleen spent 2 weeks at St. Luke's Hospital in The Woodlands so that doctors could monitor the swelling in her legs and flush out her kidneys. Thankfully, her kidneys were spared. She was however diagnosed with Compartment Syndrome, which is a limb- and life-threatening condition. This occurs after an injury, when there is not a sufficient amount of blood to supply the muscles and nerves with oxygen and nutrients because of the raised pressure due to extreme swelling. Fortunately, this was caught in time, although her ability to bend her legs or walk was significantly affected. Colleen is recovering slowly, and is now undergoing extreme physical therapy treatments 5 days a week to help her walk again.

These events not only took a physical and emotional toll on Colleen and her family, but also a financial one. She has a long road of recovery ahead of her and could use all the support she can get.
