Donahue Family

On July 21, 2005, Kendra and Jason Donahue gave birth to their second happy and healthy boy Jayden. Everything was going great the first two months after Jayden was born. They were a happy family of four! Two days after Jayden received his two month shots, something horrible happened that changed this family forever. Jayden started having seizures and ended up hospitalized for a month. For the following five years, he continued to regularly have seizures. It took five years, many hospital visits, multiple specialists, and a neurologist for the doctors to determine that Jayden has several diagnosis, which are cerebral palsy, in utero brain injury, seizure disorder and developmental delay. To this day, Jayden remains in a wheelchair and has many special medical needs. Kendra is home daily with him and takes care of all of his needs. Just recently Jayden was hospitalized for 2 weeks due to an obstruction (SMA Syndrome), all revolving over the fact of failure to thrive. He has struggled for years with gaining weight, now with the SMA and poor weight gain this has resulted in a feeding tube.

I am raising money for the Donahue family to help pay some of their many medical costs. One of their most urgent needs is for a van that is wheelchair accessible. Currently, Kendra and Jason have to lift Jayden up each time they travel anywhere in their van. During the days when he has most of his doctors' appointments, the difficult job of lifting Jayden and the wheelchair in and out of the van is Kendra's responsibility. Jayden is 8, now finally putting on some weight and is becoming too heavy for his parents to lift in and out of the van.

This is a busy family of five living on one income. Any monetary donation will help make their lives just a little bit easier.
