This campaign of the 'Art Education with BHill Project', is Mission two of a international art foundation led by Artist: BHill of BHillArtistry. In February 2017 teaching artist Briana Hill traveled to Jamaica, West Indies to donate art supplies, teach a free art lesson and re-do a mural on the Windsor Basic School in Saint Ann's Bay, Jamaica. The first mission was an absolute success! For the second mission, she will be targeting about six schools, throughout Saint Ann's and Kingston Jamaica!!This means more art supplies, more lessons to teach, different age groups of youth and a BIGGER Fundraising GOAL.This time, she will be having film maker Akeel Nelson join the mission in which he will be turning this entire mission into a short documentary!!We need your help to manifest this!!Your money will go towards:-Art Supplies for each of the chosen schools throughout Saint Ann's and Kingston, Jamaica.-More material needed for the construction of The Multipurpose Center of Windsor Basic School. -Transportation for her and Film maker, Akeel to travel between purchasing art supplies and getting to each school. For the first mission, total collections were over $700! After GoFundme's deductions and fees, a total of $691.00 was available. The students and faculty at Windsor Basic School in Saint Anns Bay, Jamaica received $400.00 worth of art supplies and $250.00 was given to Principal Deborah Reid Brown for the construction work of the multipurpose center- that is being built right beside the main Windsor School house! The remaining $41.00 was given to Principal Brown for food/materials needed for students to celebrate National Jamaica Day, which was on February 17, 2017. I was presented an award on this day, in which they've acknowledged my hard work and dedication! I taught a water-resistant painting lesson and enjoyed national Jamaican treats, while singing and dancing with the students! Please help me expand something that was once a simple dream! Mission: Whether art educators are hired full time or have a teaching artist come in and educate youth/adults on art skills and techniques, it is essential that creative expression is taught to give people the opportunity to create and think artistically.
