Neighbors Helping Neighbors

I am writing today to help out my next door neighbor.  We have been neighbors since I moved onto Hilton Avenue in Takoma Park, MD nearly 17 years ago, and the Jones family has been a part of this community for more than 20 years.  In this house, my neighbor raised her children and her grandchildren, which she continues to do so to this day. My kids and her grandkids have grown up together and are a tight knit bunch.

My neighbor has found herself unemployed these last few months and is having a hard time getting back into the job market. She is the primary financial supporter of her household and is responsible for a household of five.  I am wanting to help her with a financial cushion that will enable her and her family to stay in their home while she finds new employment. I am reaching out to neighbors and friends to see if this community can help a neighbor get back on her feet.   This fundraiser will help her cover her housing and utility costs so she can put her focus on job hunting and not have to deal with the stress that comes with not knowing if you’ll be able to stay in your home or not.
