My name is Steph and I'm starting this GoFundMe for my wonderful partner Richie. At the young age of 27 he was diagnosed with a rare heart cancer mid way through 2020. This type of cancer is extremely rare and only 1 in about 1 million people get diagnosed with it. Ever since this long journey began, he's proven to be the strongest person I've ever met physically and mentally getting through each day. Chemotherapy sessions are once a fortnight and the days following are always a struggle.
Despite how he feels all time, he still pushes through and lives his life to the absolute fullest even still working making car wheels. The doctors have even said how amazing it is that despite the chemotherapy his body is so resistant that he hasn't lost any hair and he's still able to do mundane tasks where usually by this stage people should be bedridden. He motivated me
Because this cancer is so rare here in Australia there aren't many surgeons available to do surgery for him. Surgery is extremely high risk but it's basically the only thing that could save his life. The doctors here in Sydney contacted a Surgeon in the UK who has done surgery on patients with the same type of cancer and has succeeded. We have been cleared to fly to the UK in April for this lifesaving surgery.
The cost of the surgery is $50,000. It is really the only thing that could save his life and I would be eternally grateful for any donation to help Richie get through this.
