Being diagnosed with cancer is hard for anyone. Choosing to do things as natural as possible is promising and inspiring for me, but when insurance will not help fund and pay for your treatment, it is harder still. This is my attempt to pay for the wonderful healing foods and treatments (both conventional and non-conventional) that will save my life, and hopefully it will inspire others to feed their bodies with the whole, raw, and organic goodness that will prevent disease in general. I have done lots of research and I have chosen to feed my body only the best most healthy foods while at the same time do some low dose chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
Since being diagnosed, I have been told by multiple different doctors on many different occasions that they recommended chemo and radiation. They said that with this, I might make it to the 5 year survival mark and that all treatment with chemo and radiation would be palliative only. I have been told that eventually this will take my life due to the aggressiveness of my type of disease. (I am HER2+ which is means that I have a special kind of receptor on the cancer cells in my body that tell them to multiply at a quicker rate.) I was given 1-2 years to live tops without chemo and radiation. (It has been more than three and a half years now!) I believe I have gotten this far with a natural treatment that was mainly dietary in nature called the Gerson Therapy (and maybe a few other alternative treatments, meditations, and positive affirmations here and there to help). I started a new clean, organic, healthier lifestyle and have come a long way, I thank my family and friends for supporting me thus far. Without them it would have been impossible.
I have felt from the beginning that I will live through this, and I feel that conventional medicine alone is not for me for this reason. I want to do more than just prolong my life. I want to heal my body completely.
I have chosen to see a specialty oncologist and homeopathic doctor that resides and practices in Reno. His name is James W. Forsythe, MD, HMD, and he works with a team of other doctors and nutritionists to get the right treatment for each individual patient. They start by doing targeted chemosensitivity testing on the patient's blood. Many people refer to this as the Greek test as Greece is where the testing is done. While in Greece, the blood will be tested with all the known chemotherapeutic drugs available as well as the latest alternative treatments to get the best treatment options. With this method, Dr. Forsythe and his team have seen great success with patients most purely conventional doctors have told there is nothing more they can do for them.
I will include here the estimate for the testing and then a VERY rough estimate for the treatment itself (as we are not 100% sure which treatment I will need).

So this brings therapy cost to around $50,000-$60,000
To give some perspective on cost, an accquaintance of mine recently diagnosed with kidney cancer with mets or spreading to his lung. Conventional chemo and radiation was estimated to cost anywhere from $200,000-$300,000. (Of course insurance will help with some of these costs.) After doing some research he found Dr. Forsythe's clinic. After a lot of consideration and research, my friend had his treatment done with Dr. Forsythe and his team for a much reduced cost of $55,000 after the initial testing and consulting fees. Insurance would not help with this treatment as it is still considered "alternative". He is doing well now. His last PET scan is completely clean and clear of all cancer.

Our goal here is to raise enough funds to cover the initial costs, the therapy costs, room, board, and food while having treatment in Reno, any outside labs, medical imaging, or testing, and the monthly supplements/home medication costs after treatment.
