Fireline Family in Need

One of our employees, Frank Bernadzikowski, is going through something that we all pray we never have to deal with- a sick child. His beautiful daughter Samantha Brooke was born with a heart disease that required 3 open heart surgeries. Two were performed within her first year and the third was this past spring. She is 3 years old.

Since the last surgery her condition has worsened and just yesterday she had another open heart surgery called a sutcherless vein repair. This surgery has a 1 in 3 chance of success after 5 years. Not ideal odds, but it is a last chance before getting on a donor list. If the disease comes back she will need a heart AND lung transplant. Something extremely rare for children. As many of you know, donor lists span years, and are even longer for children. So she will need all the time she can get.


Since the last surgery, Frank and his wife have had to deal with many unexpected costs and significant amounts of unpaid time away from work. These surgeries had her in care much longer than expected and has taken their toll on the family. As a result, they need help with things like groceries and bills.
