Help Matty

Matthew is a charismatic almost nine year old boy who is very loved by everyone who knows him. He lives in Massachusetts with his mother Marybeth, his father Damian, and his little sister Lilyana. Matthew is very bright and charismatic boy and loves to play video games and draw pictures of his favorite superheroes. Matty also has a form of autism called Autism Spectrum Disorder. This alone is an obstacle his family works with everyday but recently they've been given a tougher challenge. Matthew was admitted to the hospital for severe abdominal pain due to constipation and an infection in his intestines that causes his body to not process the waste build up as it should. Because Matthew cannot express himself the way most children his age can he becomes extremely aggressive and emotional. After two tense weeks of staying at MGH children's ward he recently has been transferred to a hospital in Rhode Island that specializes in children with autism. They will hopefully be able to better help with his discomfort and begin treating the infection. Matthew has been very brave through all this and still finds ways to make everyone laugh and smile. Unfortunately with all the time his parents have had to devote to staying with him at the hospitals and traveling back and forth to be with Lily, the expenses have gotten out of hand. Some of these expenses include medical bills, wages lost, traveling back and forth to the hospital and other financial burdens.
