100 Mile cycle for Jacob

I have never asked for sponsorship for the things I have done before such as London to Brighton bike ride, Parachuting, 10k runs, Space walk.....OK, I lied about the last one.
This time I am asking you to sponsor me for a cause very close to my heart.
As you may or may not know my nephew Jacob has an auto immune condition which he has had since the age of three.... he presently has to go for regular treatment in Miami which as you can imagine costs quite a bit (details below).
I am doing the London Olympic Bike Ride 100 on August 4th which, as the name gives away, is 100 miles (160km) covering the same Olympic route as London 2012 .
It is a tortuous route - with the infamous uphill Boxhill section - finishing in front of Buckingham Palace and started training in April so I can complete it in the time given.

The money will go directly to my sister to help with the huge medical and travel bills that she has had and continues to have (Trinidad's health system is not quite the NHS!)
Physically this will be the most demanding thing I have ever done (excluding Carnival but that is alcohol fuelled!) with it taking an estimated seven hours of constant riding! but if you have ever met Jacob he is the loveliest child who has had to live with this for 10 years and through it all has managed to keep smiling.

Jacob Christian is a thirteen year old boy (14 in August) who has been suffering from an auto-immune condition since the age of three.
After numerous tests, in Trinidad and Miami, (many of them painful and invasive) and, after being mis-diagnosed several times, we have finally been given some measure of hope that Jacob will soon be leading a normal life like any other teenage boy.
Basically, Jacob's immune system is severely compromised, meaning he does not absorb nutrients from sun and water neither does his body make enough white blood cells which help with fighting off infection etc. He is therefore unable to fight off any infection or bacteria that he comes into contact with.
This results in severe eczema, chronic asthma, numerous staph infections, constant itching and aggravated nerve endings along with a chronic Vitamin D deficiency and a host of other related ailments.
However, Jacob has been seeing a specialist in and is improving immensely under this Doctor's care.
He is now doing his second cycle of a six month series of weekly injections here in and they are working well.
Jacob must return to in August for both a check up and further testing as the years of antibiotics and steroids have taken their toll and he must check the condition of his liver, kidneys etc
The Doctor's fee alone is US $2,000.00, and to add to this is the cost of flights, accommodation and medication.
Every week we pay $300 to $450.00 TT for his injections. His monthly medications are approximately $500.00 depending on how good his health is at the time.
