Encouraging Eleza

We are starting this page as colleagues and friends of this special little girl's mom, Sonia Alves. Searching for words to describe Eleza Alves is difficult, but we are left with sweet, smart, funny, spirited, and feisty. She loves her big sister, her parents, her grandparents, and her loving extended Portuguese family. Eleza has a smile that is infectious, and within minutes of meeting you she will likely be sitting on your lap ready to sing a song. In fact, one of the first signs that she was ill was that her usual sense of humor and energy was gone. She is currently at Oakland Children's Hospital, in the intensive care unit. She has been diagnosed with a rare syndrome associated with E.coli, and this syndrome primarily effects the liver and kidneys. Like everything else, her family is facing this head on and ensuring she has the best care available. However, due to her transfer to Oakland, the family is accruing "cost of living" expenses, such as housing, food, and transportation. Any help for the family only releases this stress and allows them to focus on their beautiful baby girl.
