Derek's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
On Saturday, a friend was cycling on local Durham Region (Sandford Rd and 3rd Concession) roads and was involved in a hit and run. He was left by the motorist in critical condition.

Family has been by his side as Derek navigates extensive trauma including multiple fractures. As an experienced cyclist, racer, triathlete and overall fantastic human, his passion shines bright for helping others find the best within themselves as a Strength & Conditioning Program Coordinator.

Now it is our turn to extend strength and support to him as the road to recovery ahead will be a long one. Wrap-around support (financial, physical, emotional) is the goal. Funds collected will help with: hospital parking, food drop-offs, medical and rehabilitation costs, and knowing Derek's ongoing support of a better world, we feel he would appreciate any donations to organizations that support sharing the road and overall bike safety.

Thanks for joining Derek's Road to Recovery. Every bit of support will be so appreciated by this incredible family.

On behalf of this growing support team, please spread the word regarding the ongoing police investigation. "Police are looking for witnesses to a collision involving a cyclist in Uxbridge on the morning of March 26. Details can be found here: https://www.drps.ca/news/police-seeking-witnesses-in-fail-to-remain-in-uxbridge/"
