Steve, Shadow, Mr. Z...he went by many different names but he was proud of all of them. In January 2016 Steve was diagnosed with colangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) a cancer that effects 12% of the population and has a ZERO survivability but Steve wasn’t daunted. He went thru surgeries, chemo, radiation, interventional radiology, breaky therapy, and auto immune treatments, and was never opposed to try something new because he was determined to beat the odds. And as one family member said, in some ways he was a success. A man who originally had 3 months to live gave us over 2 years!!! But in the end his determination and will couldn’t surpass the progression of cancer and on March 22nd, 2018 Steve earned his wings. Of course this is devastating to all of us but I will persevere knowing that I have the best angel watching over me.
Unfortunately Steve had no life insurance and leaving a mountain of medical bills and a large funeral has me doing everything I can to honor his life the way he deserves. Should you feel inclined to help in any way alleviate the strain, your donation will be put to paying the debt. I thank you for just reading our story. RIP Steve.
