Tuition for First year of University

I am writing to express a need for financial assistance. My name is Raheem Graham, a nineteen (19) year old student at Rusea’s High School. I graduated fifth (5th) form at Rusea’s in June of 2018 during which I was awarded student of the year for the academic year 2017-18. I went on to sixth form in September of 2018 and was chosen to lead the student body as the Head boy for the academic year 2018-19. I then went on to upper sixth and retained my role as Head boy for the current school year. 

I am seeking your financial assistance to pursue studies overseas at Bethany Lutheran College in Minnesota, USA that has offered me a partial merit scholarship to major in Biology. The scholarship is worth USD$23,530 annually, with a remaining balance of USD $13,000 which will cover tuition, food, room as well as books. This balance is supposed to be paid in two (2) halves which is USD$6,500 on or before July 31,2020 with the first half covering the first semester. The second half would be for the second semester which starts in January. However, I’m only asking for help to pay for the first semester with the July 31st deadline as it is now a sort of emergency to get it paid.

After being expelled from a previous institution, I am grateful that Rusea’s gave me a second chance at academic success. My tenure has been a time of reflection, self-assessment and commitment to hard work. Whereas I was very complacent at my previous institution and did not invest the requisite work against my own potential, this second chance at Rusea’s compelled me to be more responsible for my academic health and my life. 

During my time at Rusea’s I represented the school in numerous clubs but one of my most notable achievement came while representing the school in the annual Dacosta Cup competition. I was a member of the 2017 Dacosta Cup championship team, and though my team and I were not successful in defending the championship in 2018, I am forever grateful for having represented my school at such an illustrious level. 

My life has changed since I became a student at Rusea’s, and I have a renewed perspective of life. I am confident that I will not disappoint your investment into my education because I am committed to hard work and discipline to achieve my personal goals and satisfy your investment in me as well as my family.
