3D Printed Face Shields, Sheffield Uni 3DCrowd Hub
Donation protected
The University of Sheffield’s Diamond building has become the Yorkshire hub for 3DcrowdUK. The iForge student-led makerspace and university members of staff are printing functional face shields to protect medical workers to tackle the current critical shortage of medical PPE.
Currently, there is a desperate need for funding to cover the cost of materials or donations of raw materials. Pick up can be arranged!
1kg of filament = approx. 20 face shield frames = approx. £20
For material donation, PETG filament can be 1.75 or 2.8mm, the sheet should be 0.5mm thick and 1.5mm. The 0.5mm is the one in short supply it seems and is needed for the actual shield.
PLEASE HELP this campaign to keep our NHS staff healthy and equipped with essential PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)!
