Budding MD Researcher Needs Support!

Hi,
My name is Steve, and I am a budding medical scientist, author of my first book on value theory with Springer Academic Publishers (pending publication), and an avid reader and researcher in many fields. My undergraduate fields were philosophy and history (my BA), which I completed with a 3.9, as well as various registered and audited classes in economics and political science. My undergraduate honors thesis was in American antebellum penitentiary history/American history of violent crime, and I am currently in pursuit of an MD/PhD in neurobiology and behavior at Columbia University (I am currently in my second year of Columbia's post-bacc pre-med program and will apply for Columbia's MD/PhD next August). Thus, the work I plan to do on the psychological and neurophysiological causes of violence are greatly informed by my knowledge both of the history of violent behavior and, via my work in value theory, the social cognitive foundations of value judgment. I plan to write further books after the publication of my first, and various journal articles will not be far behind. Indeed, I have already been approached by my undergraduate institution for a lecture on my first book.
Unfortunately, I have very little money. Working three small jobs and after having exhausted family resources, I sought out countless friends and strangers to co-sign loans for me to go to school--recently, all to no avail. I have endured too many sucker punches and too many threats to my education, and I do not want to become yet another victim of the current student-loan and economic crisis. All I need is $15,000 more to complete my post-bacc pre-medical coursework, and then the MD/PhD program I attend will be paid for (as it is an MSTP funded by the NIH). Please allow me to fulfill my dream; this is my chance--and yours--to make the world a better place.
