Lauren’s recovery

Lauren was violently attacked in Newport Oregon  for using the women’s restroom at a park. She was washing her hands!! A cis women that had seen her in the bathroom told her husband that Lauren was harassing her while she was in there, which was not true. This woman’s husband walked up to Lauren as she was making herself some breakfast near her car and violently attacked her. 

 She’s currently at OHSU where she’s undergoing facial reconstruction.  

This is a text Lauren sent me:

“ Coming out as trans sort of exploded my old life. Pretty overwhelmed and scared at the moment

Started HRT 2 weeks ago ... moved to Oregon to start a new life for myself. It took so much courage to start this processs. Everyone and everything from my old life has fallen away and I am just trying to find peace/happiness

I was assaulted for washing my hands in the ladies restroom. An absolute senseless act of violence.

I have been living out of my car with my dog since arriving here, exploring and trying to find a place to settle down”
