The White Rock Brewing Team

As you’ve seen from our update emails, the past 22 months have been really, really tough on us at team White Rock. Really on both sides of town, but for different reasons. At the Alehouse, the lingering pandemic, the 22-month 3-G construction, a couple of brutally hot summers. At WRBC on Beckley, three different landlords in a year, unanticipated abnormally high costs for supplies and construction, a wicked summer for a good portion of our time open, and unforeseen hiccups with the new brewing system. The bottom line is that all told, we have lost over 700k in sales at the Alehouse and had 300k in unanticipated costs on Beckley. We continue to pound on TxDOT and the governor’s office and literally anyone who will listen to us to gain some relief related to 3-G. But as you all know, a fight with the government is a tough battle. Our vendors have been great in working with us and that is very appreciated. We do believe that 2024 could be a much better year, but in the short term we do need help. This is a tough one for us and our pride, but we’ve set up this gofundme account. The website requires a goal to be set, which we chose at random. But there is a big gap between that set goal and how much we’ve lost so it is a loose goal. For the reasons mentioned above we are down in sales at both places. Having those sales would have helped us be in a much different place. The bottom line is we love what we do. The community has been such a big part of why we exist. We are still establishing that community connection on the west side, but on the east side there are so many. The Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce, the Arboretum, Woodrow Wilson HS, St Thomas Aquinas, Bishop Lynch, the White Rock YMCA, the Bath House Cultural Center, to name a few. And of course the countless individuals we have become true friends with and enjoy seeing regularly is why we are fighting to get things stabilized. We have a lot more to do with craft beer and with our community! We are working on some ways to recognize those who offer help and will follow up on that. Of course, an additional way to help is to come out to either the Alehouse or the Brewing Company on Beckley to enjoy some great beer and food and bring your friends. We are back to making great beer in larger volumes and have a bright future. We have just hit a (large) bump in the road and need some help to get over it. We love you all!
