Help ease the financial burden for Brian and Lori

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Steve Taylor and I am raising funds for Brian and Lori Boyle. Our great friends from Main Street Surf Shop in Newport Beach, California that have had to endure a world of pain the last 6+ weeks.

On Sunday October 8th, Brian Boyle was rocked by a massive heart attack. Lori Boyle acted quickly and began CPR. Brian was rushed to Hoag Hospital where he was put on life support. Brian lay here on life support for 3 days.

It gets heavy here folks so hold on... On the 3rd day, the Doctor asked Lori if she was ready to make a final decision as it seemed Brian was not going to wake up. Lori said "No, not yet. Give him another day."

On the 4th day in the morning, Brian opened his eyes! In the words of Lori, "He's a true MIRACLE OF GOD!".

Brian woke, but he had suffered brain damage from nearly 20 minutes without oxygen. Every day a little more memory was coming back to Brian and he was beginning to walk assisted with a walker and help.

The road got longer shortly after though... While Brian was recovering at a nursing facility he had a bad fall. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon in these facilities. Brian was moved to Mission Hospital immediately where they found bleeding on the brain and blood clots in his legs. Brian was quite literally barely holding on at this point.

Brian has gotten strong enough to leave Mission Hospital and be entered into a long term hospice care home in Huntington Beach. He now needs 24 hour care and supervision.

To say the medical bills are extravagant would be an understatement. Insurance handled a decent chunk of the beginning of this nightmare the Boyle's have been put through, but once that ran out the bills have been piling on. Insurance has already denied coverage for some of his ICU care and there is no coverage at the long term hospice. They are already $30k out of pocket, and the bill gets bigger everyday.

Lori and Brian NEED US BAD. They are going to be paying these hospice bills day after day, week after week. This is only the beginning of the help we want to raise for these amazing people.

Lori and Brian have been a staple in the surf community for decades owning, managing, and running the day to day operations at Main Street Surf Shop at Balboa Pier in Newport Beach, CA. They have a particularly special connection with the skimboarding community. They are co-founders of the Oktoberfest skimboard contest and have supported the event for 18 years and running. They've sponsored local kids, as well as traveling pros. They have given their time, their love and their devotion to countless people. Please do anything and everything you can to help them in their time of need.

Lori has been put through more than any of us could imagine with little to no support. In an instant, her decades long life partner went from an active, healthy man to a hospice patient needing expensive around the clock care. We are powerless to change that, but together we can at least help lessen the financial burden.
