Knudsen (Hawkes) Family
Donation protected
On Thursday morning, June 6th "“ Hans Knudsen, who
had spent the previous evening happily skateboarding with his buddy, didn't
wake up. Instead of doing what most healthy, happy 20 year olds did that day,
he was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery for an undiagnosed, small but treacherous
brain tumor, which had settled in a life-threatening place in his brain. The surgery was unsuccessful and the tumor
took his life, as precious as that was. The shock descended quickly on family
and friends, not least his Mom "“ Vicky Hawkes, who loved her only Son more than
life itself, and his Dad, Hans, who cherished him beyond words. Step-parents, family, friends, co-workers,
everyone who knew and loved him, and adored his cheerful smile and his humble
soul, fell apart at the suddenness and sadness of this inexplicable tragedy. Today,
Friday June 7th, around lunchtime, Hans will be taken away to donate
organs "“ per his wish "“ to help others have the chance he no longer has.
Sometime this afternoon, we expect him to bid farewell to this earth and leave
us.
Our hope and wish through this site, is to provide at least some comfort to Vicky and her family by relieving part of the financial burden now imposed upon them, totally unexpectedly. She, her husband Tony, Hans's Dad and his wife, Sue, have enough to deal with "“ more than most of us can imagine. The very least we can do is ask for some help from friends and family, to try to take one item off their plate.
Whether you have $5 to spare, or $50, we are asking for your help. Please consider giving to the Knudsen/Hawkes family, in an effort to give Hans a fond farewell, and to relieve his family of an additional expense "“ one they could never have imagined having to cover, at this point in his early and beautiful life.
Every single penny will be received with huge gratitude and thanks.
There is nothing any of us can do to ease this unspeakable pain, or help Hans' parents and step-parents in the overwhelming task ahead of learning to put one foot in front of another, without their Son. What we can do, however, is show our love and support by providing some financial help. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, and your support.
