Dad with End-Stage Kidney Disease

Donation protected
At the end of May 2018, Dave Moran was diagnosed with end stage kidney/renal disease and began dialysis treatments three times a week. Since May 2018, he has been in and out of the hospital several lengthy times due to chronic infections.

Dave is a boilermaker by trade, which is a very strenuous and physically demanding type of job. In addition, most of his jobs are out of town. He has not been able to work due to his dialysis treatments and hospital admissions. He has not received a paycheck since May 30. He has been unable to help support his family.

Dave’s wife is Jennifer, and they have been married for 13 years. Jennifer is a school teacher at Beekman Charter School in Bastrop, LA where she teaches Agricultural Science to 8th through 12th graders. Dave and Jennifer have two small sons, Charles who is 7 and Eli who is 4.

Luckily, Dave received word in September 2018 that he has been approved for disability but unfortunately, he will not receive his first payment until December 2018. As you can imagine, Dave’s medical bills are extremely costly, and the family’s expenses have continued to mount. Jennifer’s teaching job has been their only source of income. The Moran family is struggling right now to make it financially.

In addition, Charles was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder when he was five years old and requires therapy services. Eli was diagnosed with cataracts at birth. He underwent cataract removal surgery last summer and requires follow-up services. Like Dave, Jennifer also suffers from diabetes and has diabetic related medical expenses.

The Moran family has been through so much, especially this year! Please consider opening your hearts and giving to this sweet family during their challenging time of need right now. Let’s please help the Moran family make it through the end of this year financially! Any amount is welcome and greatly appreciated. Kind thoughts and prayers are also greatly appreciated for Dave’s condition and for this family struggling to make it financially and emotionally during this difficult time. Thank you for your consideration in helping the Moran family!
