36 y.o murdered by gun shot wound while pregnant

My name is Jacqueline Smith,

I am the mother of Jakia Marie Holt. Shot on January 3rd, 2022, she later succumbed to her wounds on January 8th; she was five months pregnant. Unfortunately, her murderer took her life and the life of her five-month unborn child in this act of violence. She is leaving behind five children, all under the age of 14.

As a family, we are devastated by the loss of her life. Equally, the loss of losing a new life entering into our family. Jakia was a giving person, lively, happy, and full of joy! She was a family-orientated individual. There was nothing she would not do for her children and her family. She was the type of person to give the clothes off her back to anyone in need. The loss of Jakia has impacted our family immensely because all her children will now have to grow up without their mother. I will now be taking on the full responsibility of the children and raising them. Jakia was my best friend. Losing this relationship is the most devastating part of this situation. I will never hear her tell me about her day or just what was going on in their life. Her family and community will deeply miss her.
