I am heading into year 2 of raising money to create an education scholarship in the name of my dear friend JoAnn Martin. JoAnn battled ovarian cancer for over two and a half years. Last year in September 2013, JoAnn lost that battle. JoAnn and I met in college as we both were studying to be high school English teachers. Education is something JoAnn was always very passionate about. I created a scholarship for high school students in memory of her and her impact on my life. My goal is to eventually build off of this and fund scholarships in her name where she has taught. It would be amazing to someday have every high school in Wisconsin give an education scholarship in her name.
Please help me with my second year of the scholarship. Every dollar will help provide a scholarship for two graduating high school students who plan to enter college to further their passions and goals. Last year I started with a $1000 goal to fund two $500 scholarships. I had an anonymous donation match my goal and I was able to give two $1000 scholarships. This year my goal is to again raise $1000 for two graduating students and another $1000 to continue to support the scholarship recipients from 2014.
