Landlord Neglect

As residents of an apartment complex, during a storm our ceiling began leaking and eventually fell with mold and no response from our landlord. As drag queens, we’ve lost clothes and costumes that make us our money. As people, our electronics have suffered and mental health deteriorate as we had no choice but to stay for the first night. Our cats have been scared and uncomfortable from the beginning.

As of 10am the city of Los Angeles sent a bldg inspector to assess the damages and found that not only has the apt become uninhabitable because of mold, but the elevator hasn’t been inspected for 9 years and the roofing’s code is out of date, being made only of WOOD!

Please donate and/or share as we attempt to litigate our landlord the best we can. Our goal is set based on expenses already occurred and what we expect to spend in housing, cleaning, warmth and groceries! We thank you.
