Allow me to share about my dear friend Brandy Weaver. She is a true fighter and is entering round 3 of this epic battle with breast cancer.
Brandy and I became friends when we were first diagnosed with breast cancer, a year apart. We quickly became each others support system through the fight of chemo, radiation, surgeries and life. We both fought and won and our cancer had gone into remission.
Then last year, Brandy started experiencing some falls and finally after a tumble on Halloween 2019, went to go see her oncologist. The cancer had returned, invading her leg, knee, spine and brain. Again, she geared up for a fight, radiation and surgeries. She came through like a champ and by May 2020, was back to living life close to normal with her family.
In September of 2020, a few short months ago, Brandy started experiencing dizziness, headaches and balance checks. An appointment with her oncologist and a MRI later, it was found that Brandy has a new brain tumor growth on her cerebellum.
Following another appointment, it was discovered that there are new spots on her right lower femur and under that knee, on her left tibia and liver, that appeared in a very short span (5 weeks).
After a consultation with a metastatic tumor board, Brandy's oncologist has prescribed a heavy treatment process to begin immediately. She will have 10 rounds of radiation while taking an oral chemo medicine and receiving IV chemo for the next 3-6 months.
Brandy is a warrior and is surrounded by so much love, prayers and support.
