Trip to Thailand

Donation protected
Since my freshman year of high school, I’ve known with unwavering certainty that I endured the hardships I’ve endured so that one day I could help people. For about two years now, I’ve known I wanted to graduate from high school and head to college to pursue a career as an addiction counselor. This past month has left my mind with so many questions and uncertainty. Ive reconnected with God. I’ve felt closer to my family than ever. I’ve been working on letting myself feel loved and supported by my super great boyfriend (thank God he’s the most patient person I’ve ever met) And I’ve been in a transformative state where I’m always changing and learning new things about myself.
About a week ago I walked into my political science class, moments after having a beautiful discussion with Nathan about God having the power to lead you to things that are meant for you, to find we had a guest speaker. Our guest speakers name was Max, and he spent the hour telling us about the amazing works he gets to do in the Philippines working for the Peace Corps teaching young children. As much as I’d like to spend my life traveling the world and helping children learn and blossom, I also know I want a family of my own one day. And that I’m gonna make a kick ass counselor in these next couple of years. So I found the next best thing.
GLA. Or Global Leadership Adventures. This summer I hope to visit Thailand on a 14 day trip where I will get to teach children at a primary school, learn and see the lives of Buddhist monks, white water raft through Thailand’s mountains, and learn the ins and outs of their culture.
