Let's get Dad back on his bike!

Help us give Dad a SURPRISE gift of a new bike. As most of us know, this has been a rough year for our father. From being diagnosed with bladder cancer, to his extensive (yet successful) surgery/recovery, to finally loosing his father recently. Father's Day and Dad's 60th birthday is coming up this month. What a great present this would be!
As we all know, Dad's second love in his life other than Mom and his family, is bicycling. Through this long (and successful) battle with bladder cancer, Dad has been aching to get back on his bike. Whether it be for his annual participation in the MS bike ride which he donates money to each and every year or his "casual" 50 mile bike ride on a Sunday morning.
Though, recently Dad has felt like he has the energy to get on his bike, the doctors have urged him not to. The long process of the surgery and recovery has taken a toll on Dad's body. The doctors do not want him putting additional stress on his bladder for an extended period of time. Although, they said Dad can ride a recumbent bike (one of those bikes you sit and lean back). Of course, Dad has been looking around at some recumbent bikes that he would love to have.
Us children (Brian, Rob & Colette) would love to SURPRISE Dad with a new bike this summer. Of course, with the help of all of you! The bike that Dad wants is about $5,000. Rob, Colette and myself are contributing $2,000. If we can raise our goal of an additional $3,000, the bike will be given to Dad with a letter that will include everyone who donated and a message if you would like to send one (it will NOT include the amount $$ you donated).
We would greatly appreciate any donation amount you can provide. Over the last few months, the amount of love, thoughts, and prayers we received have been overwhelming. So we thought it would be a good idea to get everyone involved in this.
