Josh has been in Boston Childrens Hospital since March 17th 2014. He received a liver transplant in Oct. 2013 after a 3 year wait. His liver was severely scarred from complications of a bone marrow transplant he underwent as a baby. Only a few months after his liver transplant as he was getting stronger and back to life he was hit with a virus that went into his brain. Josh has been fighting this virus for almost a year now. His drs have not been able to get the virus under control. It has caused his intestines to fail and numerous neurological problems. We have decided to bring Josh home where he can be with his family and friends. Josh celebrated his 17th birthday in the hospital. Our goal is to have him home to celebrate his 18th. We are also hoping that Josh being home may help him recover from this awful illness.Having Josh in a hospital 3 hrs from home for this long just after a long admission for transplant plus numerous clinic visits in between has been expensive. Keeping up with expenses has been difficult and having Josh home will raise them. Josh requires a lot of care. Nursing, aids, and medical equipment. Please help us bring Josh home to his 2 younger brothers and his friends. Josh has struggled and fought for a long time and deserves to be back home with the people his misses and loves..
