Lifesaving operation for Ted

Hi, my name is Nathan and I’m fundraising for my mums dog (Ted) to have a lifesaving operation to avoid permanent paralysation. The total cost of the procedure is going to be around £8,000.

Last Friday, Ted started stumbling and falling over suddenly. He then began to start dragging his back legs shortly after. He was taken to emergency vets and was diagnosed with paralysation. It was a long day today and after getting him to another animal hospital, we’ve been told there is a 75/80% chance he can regain mobility in his back legs if he undergoes an MRI scan and an operation ASAP whilst he still has feeling of pain in his toes. They suspect the paralysation is being caused by a slipped disc and the MRI will identify the exact surgery required.

My mum has an insurance policy for Ted and we thought it would cover her for the majority of the cost. However, as usual with these insurance companies, the small print dictates terms and conditions meaning that they will only pay so much towards certain procedures. We think this is unfair but we don’t have time to fight them over it and the cost of the procedure as well as all the other costs puts us over the amount anyway.

My mum was diagnosed with blood cancer in February 2022, which hugely saddened our whole family, then a few months later further diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer. Thankfully a few months ago, we got the news that my mum had beat cancer and is now in remission. During her battle, her greatest hero who stayed by her side was Ted, the dog in need of this operation. Please don’t let Ted leave her side, let’s help her get the operation he needs.
