30 Half Marathons in 40 Days

In July 2017 my little sister, Susan, was diagnosed with breast cancer whilst 35 weeks pregnant. As you can imagine, her family life was turned upside down, and things have never been the same since.
A few days later my niece Elsie was born, and the struggle to combat the cancer began.
By September 2018, everything was looking great, however in early October 2018 she was told that unfortunately the cancer had spread to her brain. Initially this was treated with radiotherapy, however fast forward to November 2019, and she's just undergone major surgery to remove the growth.
The battle is ongoing – as anyone with a friend or family member who’s been effected by “secondary breast cancer” will know, there’s no magic cure. It’s literally a case of living life to the full whilst you still can…. take each day as it comes…. create lasting fun-filled memories with your family around you.
That’s why I’d like to raise a little bit of money so Susie and her family can enjoy a short holiday away together.
For my part, I’m attempting to row 30 x ½ Marathons in the space of 40 days, in the run up to Christmas.
For anyone who’s familiar with rowing, you’ll appreciate how physically demanding rowing is.
For those of you who aren’t, the easiest way would be to compare it to running…. The world record for half marathon running is just over 58 minutes – whereas the world record for rowing is 1:11hr – around 20% longer!
Please, feel free to make a donation, no matter how much – it will go towards a great cause, and at the same time motivate me to complete this mammoth undertaking.
