PEAQ & Modbury Vet Clinic: MH FUNDRAISER

We believe mental health is currently the biggest challenge that our society is faced with, and has been recently exacerbated worldwide with the impact of COVID.

 

For a while now, we’ve wanted to create a massive event that continues to spur the conversation, in addition to raising money for a meaningful cause.

 

After much planning and consideration, we have some BIG news to announce!

On 26 MARCH 2022, we will be hosting a continuous, 24hr 3v3 basketball game at the PEAQ Performance Centre. This game will start at midday (12pm) Saturday 26 March - midday Sunday 27 March. 

HOW WILL IT WORK?
‣ Players will rotate in sets of 6, in and out of the game once every hour - for the enture 24hrs.

 

‣ These 6 players will have to commit to 10min each in the cold contrast baths AFTER their hour rotation on the court. Our contrast baths are a great representation and example of physical recovery and building mental resilience.

‣ Not only will it mean 24 continuous hours of basketball action... but it'll also be 24 continuous hours of cold contrast therapy!

 

‣ Can't come to PEAQ to see the action for yourself? Don't stress. We'll be live streaming the event for the full 24 hrs! Throughout this stream, we will be highlighting people's individual mental health journeys, the sponsors of this inspiring event and all of the amazing participants. 

 

HOW WILL WE RAISE THE MONEY?
‣ Our goal is to raise $10,000

But don't get us wrong - if we can increase this goal thanks to the generous contributions of our wonderful community, we'd love to! 

‣ All proceeds will go to Breakthrough Mental Health Foundation  

‣ We'll raise the money for this goal through a couple of avenues:
‣ Entry fees to play and/or jump in the cold contrast therapy 
‣ Corporate sponsors (Silver & Bronze packages are still available, so contact us if you'd like to find out more!) 
‣ Extra games & activities throughout the event 
‣ This fantastic donation page, which will stay open until 1 week post-event 

This week, we have a very exciting meeting with the team at Guinness World Records to see what possibilities may lie with 'Longest 3v3 Basketball Game' or a 'Longest Accumulative Ice Bath'.
