My husband A. Jay Cotten was struck and killed when he stopped his vehicle in the emergency lane of the E/B loop 202 to put some water in our vehicle on his way home from his second day on the job. A. Jay was a hard worker for Local #383, and had just gotten the call onto a new job when on his way home from his second day of work he was struck and killed by a drunk driver. I have lost the love of my life, Ajay and I were married for almost 22 years and we loved each other so much. A. Jay and I have three children who miss him very much. I have received so much love and support and my family and I are so thankful for everyone's support.

I love you soooo soooo much! I love you deeper than the holler and Everything I do will always be for you. My best friend, lover, soul mate and husband. A. Jay Cotten, I married him twice, I loved him that much! October 12, 1991 and again on June 25, 2002. Ajay passed away on May 16, 2013, at 6:48 p.m. when he was hit by another vehicle while trying to fix his car on the way home from work, his dinner is still waiting for him in the oven. AJCFirst, my one and only tattoo, I will always look to Ajay first, because his most important goal in life was making sure I knew how much he loved me, I will pray everyday Ajay that you knew how very much I loved you.
