Hello! My name is Nate, and my wife Steph and I are planning a mission trip to Asia late this year. I don't mean to sound coy about the specifics, but something tells me it would be better to hold it close to my chest online... Steph and I are extremely excited about this opportunity! I've been to this area before, and the people are so beautiful and hungry for the Word of God and the Good News of Jesus.
Our pastor said something very poignant concerning missions, "When God sends you somewhere, you can be assured that He is going before you there and is preparing for your arrival." I can't help but be amazed during ministry outreaches. Moments align to talk about the things of God, true ministry happens at unexpected times, and true love is shown and given in unexpected ways.
So, as the Lord is working ahead of us there, we know He is also, presently, working to provide the resources to get us to our destination (and back)! We're joining Him in the work to get us there, and we hope you will too! I'm a CCM artist and Steph joins me in singing for ministry. We'll be hosting a couple of benefit concerts for the purposes of raising these funds. I don't believe these will come close to raising everything we need... According to estimates from the organizers, the $9,000 will cover the plane tickets and living expenses for a two-week missions trip. Also included in this number is two weeks of unpaid time off work. If we exceed our goal, or don't wind up using every penny, we will give the excess to our friends at the The Cookery Cafe in Nashville, a culinary arts training academy for the homeless. The work they do with the homeless is simply amazing!
