Help Pearl run & play again!
HELP PEARL RUN AND
PLAY AGAIN!
Our wonderful 8 year old dog Pearl (lovable mascot of SHAG, as many of you know) tore her ACL on her rear
left leg this spring. Pearl has always been a very active, athletic dog and
loves to swim and play catch with a ball or Frisbee.
It's been sad and difficult to keep her from running and
jumping for the past few weeks - of course, in her dog brain she still thinks
she can do all this, and lately she seems to be getting depressed. The fact is
that she is now barely putting any weight on her leg; it's getting worse and
she is in pain.
We were referred to a well-known Veterinary Surgeon at VERG,
who told us that with surgery and rehab that Pearl should be able to fully
recover in 3 to 4 months - this is our hope.
The surgery will cost $3900; the surgeon, highly regarded in
the field has an excellent success rate, with many happy pet owners in NYC.
We are asking for your help so that Pearl can run and jump
and swim again. Any donation, no matter how small, will help us on the way to
getting her the medical attention she needs to be a happy and healthy dog
again. Pearl is the best dog ever and deserves to be back out there having a good time!
We thank you, and so does Pearl!!
Samantha & Alfonso
