Help Send Sumrestar to Japan

Sumrestar is seventeen years old and has been home-schooled since the age of 10. She has attended Japanese classes since August 2012 at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster and is one of only four home-schooled high school students to take college courses there. She has a GPA of 4.0 in both classes.

Sumrestar discovered her fascination with the Japanese culture when she was just 13 years old and has immersed herself in the Japanese language everyday since. Her refusal to listen to anything but Japanese music is a true testament to her determination and drive to learn the language fluently and become a more culturally aware individual. She aspires to become an accomplished Manga artist and she is a self-taught pianist. Her ultimate goal is to live and work in Japan as a Manga artist. She is truly unique and inspiring to her family and we are exceedingly proud of her accomplishments thus far, so naturally we want nothing more than to support her in any way we can.

As it turns out, Sumrestar has recently been chosen for a half-scholarship out of a considerable pool of applicants to spend her summer in Japan, but her family needs help funding $2,000 of her trip by May 31st. Any donations to help support Sumre's dream of visiting Japan for the first time would be very graciously appreciated by her family.
