Mitchell Tagami's life celebration party will be this Saturday, June 29th at Pacific Sailing & Yacht Club, and Shenanigans Restaurant at Shoreline Village in Long Beach. From 6pm until the rum runs out. http://www.shorelinevillage.com/village-map. If anyone has any entertainment they would like to provide, or otherwise would like to help out with the event please contact Ted Shred

First of all, thank you all so much for your generous donations. Mitch truly has a lot of people who miss him and cared a great deal about him. Thank you so much for all your donations. Without them we could not have provided Mitch with the beautiful and heart-touching memorial service such a good man & pirate deserved. The family was able to contribute $758 towards the funeral, and the remaining balance of $4,543 was covered by the generous donations we received through this site. The family was also able to get one of Mitch's favorite restaurants to cater the reception after the memorial service, which was very nice. Any additional funds received through this site will be donated to charity after any outstanding expenses if there are any that we find out about. Mitch was very much interested in helping out Haven House for homeless kids while we were in Alaska, and we are sure he would love to have donations go toward them. He was also interested in helping out in nursing homes, and with children with cancer. Please check in the comments section, as I will post where each check goes to.

For those who do not know, Our dear friend and pirate, Mitchell "Shanghai" Tagami, who after recently surviving a triple bypass surgery, passed away May 9th, 2013 from a heart attack. As Ted Shred said during his eulogy, Mitch gave so much of his heart to others throughout his life, he didn't leave enough for himself. He went way above and beyond for his friends and strangers. We set up this site to raise money to assist with Mitch's funeral expenses and help make some of his wishes come true. Also being considered is taking Mitch's ashes to places he loved and places he wanted to visit, such as Alaska. Hawaii, and the Bahamas. Some people have expressed interest in completely anonymous donations, and you may contact me through this site, or Ted Shred at 626-437-4785. Whenever I receive offline donations I post the name (or anonymous) and the donation amount within 24 hours so that all the donations can be accounted for.

Thank you again everyone. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Sincerely,
Kim Donovan
