This fund has been established by family and friends as a result of the sudden and tragic loss of our beloved Crystal on Sunday, January 21st, 2018. She was driving from Drumheller, AB to Estevan, SK to visit her boyfriend and tragically crashed near Morse, SK in the early hours of the morning. She was an exceptional mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and a friend to many. Crystal leaves behind countless family members, and sadly, her two adoring young children Rowan (8) and Mila (6).
Crystal lived her life to the fullest each day. She never turned down an experience to cultivate her own growth, for the hope of bettering her children’s lives. As such, she did many things in her 28 years that most do not do in a lifetime. She was a thrill-seeker who enjoyed skydiving and scaling mountains, but she also had an inclination for nature that meant she relished in anything that got her outside for a breath of fresh air and to feel the Earth at her feet. She was taken far too young and had so many more mountains left to climb. It is inconceivable to try and understand how someone so extraordinary, who means so much to so many, is taken from this life when they have so much left to live for, not only for themselves but also for the loved ones they leave behind. It is a devastating loss, and we will always carry Crystal in our hearts in remembrance.
Crystal was only 28 years old, but she managed to touch many lives in her short time here. Most importantly, the lives of her children. Nothing brought Crissy more joy than her kids. She was an incredible mother, and it is plainly exhibited through how brightly her children shine. She bred a sparkle into them that they could never attain anywhere else. They are delightful little beans who carry the same spunkiness and free-spirited nature as their mother. And for many of us, they have been the much-needed light and reprieve during this inexplicably dark time.
Currently, Rowan and Mila reside with their grandparents, who hope to instill a sense of normalcy and consistency back into their lives after this tragic turn of events. Crystal would have done anything for her kids, and so those of us who love her want to help ensure that Rowan and Mila have everything they need – now and (especially) in the future. Please consider making a contribution to help provide for their education as these little ones grow up. The funds will be put into RESP’s to lend support to their future ambitions, and will be in the care of their Grandma Dana Lee until Rowan and Mila reach an appropriate age.
