Rosh Hashana Flowers at Mayanei Hospital

For the third year we are bringing flowers to every patient at Mayanei Hayeshua Hospital ❤️

This tradition was started by a group of medical students in Tel Aviv while doing our psychiatry clerkship. Our professor one day remarked offhand that in the 30+ years he had worked in psychiatry he had never once seen a patient receive flowers, despite other wards - maternity, cardiology - being constantly flooded with flowers.

This is no longer the case at Mayanei - for Rosh Hashana everyone gets a fresh bouquet and a card wishing them a shana tova and a year of health and happiness and love and all the things we wish to everyone. Receiving treatment in a psychiatric hospital does not disqualify anyone from partaking in the optimism and hope of a new year. This year, the first since October 7th, optimism will be a challenge for us all.
