Holyoke Summer Strings believes access to Music Education should be available to all people. That is why we have created a program that not only offers children free instruction on either a Violin or Cello (by experienced and caring instructors), but also includes the use of an instrument, vocal training, visual arts classes, yoga, and arts related field trips!
We are also very proud of the support from our local community so it is important to us to give back in the form of weekly public performances by the students in various locations in Holyoke! Last year we performed at a local Hot Dog Stand (Nick's Nest), a local Summer Baseball Game (Blue Sox), our Holyoke Farmer's Market, and one of our local Museums (Wistariarhurst Museum). We even went another step further and brought the children on our first field trip where we visited the Smith College Museum of Art and performed on the steps of Northampton's City Hall!
This year we want to offer more and to do that we need your help!
