Donovan's Admittance to USC Real Estate

Donation protected
Hello,

I have been accepted into the prestigious USC (University of Southern California) Ross Minority Program in Real Estate for the 2013 Summer Session, starting June 6th.

This is an amazing opportunity for me to learn Real Estate Finance and Development from some of the World's greatest Developers.

On top of this opportunity with the USC, I am now a Licensed Broker working for BRC Advisors Commercial Real Estate, headquartered in Downtown Los Angeles. Working with BRC Advisors and being a part of the USC Ross Minority Program in Real Estate is a tremendous start to my Commercial Real Estate career and I am proud to be a part of both organizations. Any you support you can give in accomplishing my financial goal to pay for the USC (University of Southern California) Ross Minority Program in Real Estate, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

For those who don't know me, my name is Donovan Claudius Knowles. My background in real estate spans over 8 years however, I originally moved to California to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. In 2004, my acting career stopped advancing at the pace that I wanted so I began looking for other successful opportunities to branch into, while I continued to pursue a path in the entertainment industry.

Fast forward to 2013, and I have a wife, 4 young children and just recently received my California Real Estate Salesperson's License. I initially set aside 4 to 5 years to learn the real estate industry and was able to accomplish a tremendous amount in only 3 short years. I properly marketed a land deal and sold it to a Developer for $900,000, almost double what the Owner wanted; researched and marketed 2,100 acres of ocean front land in the Bahamas by working with Realtors, Appraisers and Attorneys and was able to bring multiple Buyers to the table including a Casino and Resort Developer, who was interested in development in the Bahamas and I worked with a husband and wife investment team purchasing properties around the country, raising their net worth from $2.6 million to $5.3 million in 9 months.

My initial interest in real estate was to make enough money to be able to produce my own television and film projects. That initial interest has turned into a career and a passion for me. I did not study real estate in college nor did I obtain a graduate degree in this field. I took a step towards real estate and God has increased me in wisdom, knowledge and insight with regards to my journey. I have had many successes and some failures as well. Now I have an opportunity to be a part of the USC Ross Minority Program in Real Estate for the 2013 Summer Session.

I received my admission letter today via email. I found out about this program late, yet I was allowed to apply because there was still space for late applicants and financial aid available, so I received a partial scholarship to go. I am reaching out for help with the other $2,750 that is required for me to take part in this prestigious program. My wife and I have been dealing with financial challenges for a few years, raising 4 children with one of us not working and not having enough income in our home. The USC Program is a step in the direction of changing my family's future for the better and making an impact in the communities of Los Angeles. I am very excited and honored that I was chosen amongst a large applicant pool and fortunate to receive a partial scholarship. I want to thank you all in advance for considering me and my family and this opportunity that is ahead and being a blessing to us by helping us raise the funds necessary for me to attend the USC Ross Minority Program in Real Estate.

Below is my admission letter:
