Meet Robert Loper.  Affectionally known as "Pop Pop" and "Big Rob" among other names... Big Rob is my wife's step-father.  He has a son, Blake, a daughter, Jordon and several grandchildren.

Robert is a 56 year old second generation contractor and a very skilled one at that.  He lives in Savannah with his wife, Robin, and his 20 year old daughter.  Jordon's fiance, Puncho, and his three young kids, ages 5, 6 and 7 also live with the family.

For the past few weeks, Robert has been dealing with headaches, blurred vision and speech complications.

On Wednesday, February 21st, 2018 Robert was admitted to St. Joseph's Emergency Room.  The diagnosis: Glioblastoma, an aggresive form of brain cancer.

Glioblastoma is a rare and very deadly form of cancer.  It does not show symptoms until it is in the final stage.  The most common length of survival following diagnosis is 12 to 15 months.

Within a matter of hours, Robert's life and the lives of his family changed forever.

The following morning, the doctors performed brain surgery and removed a large portion of the cancerous tumor.  Despite their best effort, the doctors at  St. Joseph's could not remove the whole tumor because of its location within the brain.

Robert spent the next 6 days in the Neurological Intensive Care Unit with his family and, as of this writing, he remains hospitalized.

Over the next few weeks, we expect Robert to begin Radiation treatment and Chemotherapy.

We are seeking donations to help support Robert and his family in this time of need.  Donations would be used to pay past and future medical bills and other costs associated with treatment and care.

Robert is one of the most kind and gentle people I know.  He loves his family and has never met a stranger.

Big Rob has never hesitated to help me or anyone in a time of need.  Right now, he is in the fight of his life and needs help from friends, family and complete strangers.

My goal is to raise $2,500.00 and increase awareness of this deadly cancer that takes the lives of loved ones without notice and without remorse.

Thank you for reading this and if you cannot donate money, please take time to pray for his recovery.
