Rusty's Surgery

On Saturday (5/4/2013) Rusty sustained an open skull fracture as a result of a horse kick to the head. He was rushed to Burlington Emergency & Veterinary Specialists (BEVS) in Burlington, VT for hospitalization to monitor his neurological signs for any decline due to the trauma to the head.
As of Monday morning, Rusty has remained stable, but requires surgery to remove the piece of bone that remains (the piece from his frontal sinus cavity was kicked in, and remains lodged against his cribriform plate). This needs to be removed, his sinus cavity flushed of any remaining bone fragments and debri, and get sewn back together.
The emergency treatment, hospitalization, and surgery are now estimated to cost $5000.00. I absolutely will move forward with treatment regardless, but will appreciate any amount you could toss our way. :-) He goes into surgery this afternoon.
