Decking Family In Need of Help

Donation protected

Hello everyone.

This morning, on October 10th, 2016, a family in Foster Township (outside Freeland) experienced a terrible a loss when their house caught fire, and they lost everything, including their beloved dog. Luckily, both parents were able to make it out safely, thanks to the great work of at least five local fire departments.

As one can imagine, there is going to be a long healing process, including the financial obstacles that are ahead. This, along with the loss of irreplacable personal items and belongings, plus the cost of restoration, is why we are asking for the community to help the Decking family.

The family includes three wonderful daughters, all of whom are currently attending different colleges throughout Pennsylvania. The cost of education coupled with the costs needed to recover from this untimely event makes even the smallest donation a big help.

Any donation will be greatly appreciated. The donations will go towards expenses needed for them to recover from this unfortunate event.

Update 10/14/16:
Thank you to everyone who has helped so far. This is more than I expected, for sure, and the family is so appreciative of every bit of help. There is still a long healing process that most go on, so please, if you can, any size donation will go a long way.

Per the request of GoFundMe, I must include a bit of personal information about myself.

1. My name is Christopher G. Zenier.
2. I am originally from Drums, PA, but currently live in the Pittsburgh area. I attended Hazleton Area High School and graduated in the class of 2012.
3. One of the daughters of this family, Valeska, is one of my closest friends. Over the years I have became friends with her two sisters, and I have a great deal of love and respect for them and their parents, who have always been so kind to me.
4. Funds from this campaign will be spent on rebuilding the lives of Mr. and Ms. Decking. Their home is now considered uninhabitable due to great structural damage. This money will be used to get them back on their feet, into a new home, along with the costs of other important items lost in the tragedy.

Thank you.

-C. Zenier & friends
