Steve's DoubleLung Transplant Funds
I am Steve Raines, a 53 year old retired Air Force member who is currently working for the Army here at Fort Bragg. I have been diagnosed with Ideopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis, a rare disease that causes scarring on the lungs and is terminal. During the end stage of this disease, I will require a double lung transplant to prolong my life.
Although I have insurance to cover the medical costs, I am required to relocate for 6 to 12 months while going through the process. Those costs are not covered. I am seeking donations to help fund the costs of relocating myself and my wife.
These funds will be used mainly to pay for the temporary lodging that we will need while I am going through pre-operation therapy, and during my post operation recuperation. My wife will continue to stay in the lodging while I am operated on and during my 1 to 4 week stay in the hospital.
The transplant staff have not given me an exact time frame for my surgery, as the disease works differently in individuals, but they think I should be starting the process within 1 year.
I would greatly appreciated any donations that could be made.
